Canadian Thanksgiving ๐ฆ and Halloween ๐ have come and gone and the Christmas Holidays ๐are right around the corner.
As much as we look forward to the holidays, they are often accompanied by stress, sadness, loneliness or grief ๐ฐ. And stress is often accompanied by stress behaviours (stress eating or drinking, short tempers, bingeing on Netflix โ to name a few).
โAdd in a pandemic and that stress is multiplied โ๏ธ. Can I get a ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ?
Before you engage in stress behaviours, I invite you to pause...and choose an action or two to help disrupt the stress cycle BEFORE it happens. ๐
For example:
Take 3 deep breaths ๐ฌ
Drink a big glass of water ๐ฐ
Go for a walk ๐ถ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Play with your pet for 5 minutes ๐ ๐ฆฎ
Dance it out ๐

This is a pic of me from the summer...hitting the reset button by dancing in the dark.
It helps get me out of a funk and distracts me from hitting the easy buttons.
Have you been hitting the โeasy buttonโ and engaging in stress behaviours more often than youโd like? ๐
Donโt get me wrong, sometimes it helps to eat that sweet treat or distract yourself with a Christmas movie. ๐ซ๐ฟ๐ฌ.
In fact, I encourage you to indulge in a sweet treat or Netflix movie every now and then...not because you NEED to but because you ENJOY it! I invite you to do it mindfully and slowly, with intention. ๐งก
However, if you feel like those stress behaviours are becoming your โgo toโ with little or no relief (and maybe some grief), give this reset menu a try or create your own with activities that are nourishing and quick and easy to access. ๐
Do you have an activity that you use to help you reset or pause long enough to make a more informed decision/action? ๐ฏ Give us a ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ฆฎ๐ if any of these resonate with you.
