Create a Reset Menu

Canadian Thanksgiving ๐Ÿฆƒ and Halloween ๐ŸŽƒ have come and gone and the Christmas Holidays ๐ŸŽ„are right around the corner.

As much as we look forward to the holidays, they are often accompanied by stress, sadness, loneliness or grief ๐Ÿ˜ฐ. And stress is often accompanied by stress behaviours (stress eating or drinking, short tempers, bingeing on Netflix โ€“ to name a few).

โž•Add in a pandemic and that stress is multiplied โœ–๏ธ. Can I get a ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ?

Before you engage in stress behaviours, I invite you to pause...and choose an action or two to help disrupt the stress cycle BEFORE it happens. ๐Ÿ›‘

For example:

Take 3 deep breaths ๐ŸŒฌ

Drink a big glass of water ๐Ÿšฐ

Go for a walk ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Play with your pet for 5 minutes ๐Ÿˆ ๐Ÿฆฎ

Dance it out ๐Ÿ’ƒ

It helps get me out of a funk and distracts me from hitting the easy buttons.

Have you been hitting the โ€˜easy buttonโ€™ and engaging in stress behaviours more often than youโ€™d like? ๐Ÿ”˜

Donโ€™t get me wrong, sometimes it helps to eat that sweet treat or distract yourself with a Christmas movie. ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฟ๐ŸŽฌ.

In fact, I encourage you to indulge in a sweet treat or Netflix movie every now and then...not because you NEED to but because you ENJOY it! I invite you to do it mindfully and slowly, with intention. ๐Ÿงก

However, if you feel like those stress behaviours are becoming your โ€˜go toโ€™ with little or no relief (and maybe some grief), give this reset menu a try or create your own with activities that are nourishing and quick and easy to access. ๐Ÿ“
